You might already know that segmenting your customer base is critical for marketing success. However, segmentation matters just as much for employee surveys. When you use an employee survey app, you want the right questions to go to the right employees.

Think about all the different people you employ, from the human resources department to accounting.

  • Do you feel appreciated by your managers or bosses?
  • Have you been able to further your career goals in your current position?
  • Do you feel like your superiors accept and consider your feedback?
  • How would you describe our workplace culture?

These questions sound good, and they can serve a purpose, but they do not drill down into the specifics.

In addition to segmenting your employees by their roles in the company, you can segment in other ways as well:

  • Age: Learn how people of different generations respond to certain motivational tools in the workplace.
  • Years active: Find out whether employees who have worked with your organization longer are more loyal, more productive, or otherwise different from newer hires.
  • Hierarchy: You could also segment employee surveys by hierarchy, such as managerial levels.

Using segmentation allows you to gather more accurate data based on the specific goal of the survey.
